Hamam

Hamam is the unison of a cleansing bath, body eraser, steam bath and the re-oiling of the body. It is an unhurried ritual with a defined course led by a Hamam master. The body is prepared for the treatment by bathing in four, increasingly warmer pools. After a skin erasing treatment conducted with the use of a special Hamam glove whilst sitting on the seraglio, a heated marble bench, the ritual continues with an olive soap-foam wash, freeing the body from impurities. This if followed by a 20-minute steam bath before re-oiling the body. The treatment is conducted by caring for the gradual cooling of the body. Relaxing in the pleasant rest room helps silence and purge the mind from unnecessary thoughts.
