Aquafitness can be performed by anyone, regardless of age or sex. This healthy form of water exercise is even suitable for those who can’t swim. It’s a great way of regenerating the body and keeping it in shape. Since the density of water is eight times higher than water, exercises performed in the water are more effective than on the ground, whilst being gentler to the body. This decreases the constant muscular tension on the body, allowing the supporting muscles to relax and thus exercise the whole body without overburdening the muscles. The various forms of aqua fitness include Aquapower performed with weights, Water gymnastics performed with a special foam rod or noodle, as well as Aqualates featuring routines reminiscent of Pilates.
